Mastercam X4 now available

Companies wanting an all-round CAD package for their precision engineering operations have been encouraged to invest in Mastercam, which has seen its most recent update revealed to the world.

The company, which works in tandem with AgieCharmilles as well as other producers of CNCmachine tools, says that its streamlined engine allows for the consistent editing of geometry as each piece is "live", allowing quick modifications.

A number of programming tools are included in the set, including support for two and four-axis programming, two-axis contouring with or without a taper angle and efficient no-core cutting.

The organisation continued: "Mastercam X4 Wire delivers powerful part modelling and EDM programming, efficient tab creation, and dependable wirepath verification.

"Dramatically streamlined and featuring powerful new features, Mastercam Wire has been designed to reduce programmer interaction and increase machining flexibility."

Mastercam supports CNC lathes, milling machines and turning centres, as well as electrical discharge machines as produced by AgieCharmilles.
