Precision engineering provides car with balance
The use of precision engineering in the automotive sector is getting more complex, with the most recent Mercedes offering proving this, it is said.
The newest offering from Mercedes-Benz is a feat of precision engineering, a motorsports enthusiast has said.
Automotive Addicts commented on the prototype photos of the Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing, stating that its finely-tuned chassis and bodywork is directly attributable to advanced in such things as turning centres and milling machines.
It continued: "Such as the 48/52 weight distribution between front and rear, due to a craftily placed mid-front engine, which will render the car's performance with a ballerina-like balance."
Announcing the release of the car earlier this summer, Dr Dieter Zetsche, the chairman of the board of management of Daimler AG and the head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, said: "Mercedes-Benz is presenting an exhilarating super sports car in the guise of the new SLS AMG, which is bound to set the pulses of all car enthusiasts racing that extra bit faster.
He added that it would become one of the "most alluring sports cars of our era".
