Subcon reports rise in visitor numbers
Visitor numbers to this year's Subcon show reported a rise in visitors by 30 per cent, with 280 exhibitors adding that a positive atmosphere did not let the current climate affect the event.
Running between June 9th and 11th at the Birmingham NEC, Subcon 2009 defied news regarding the recession in manufacturing, with businesses looking for new suppliers throughout the three-day precision engineering event.
The total spending power of visitors to Subcon came to over £1.8 billion of outsourced work per year, with over half making direct purchasing decisions.
Jon Hughes, the event director, was happy to report that Subcon was one of the most successful shows in the last 20 years despite the recession.
He continued: "Not only was there a buzz of activity wherever you went, but people were doing real business, sharing drawings and asking for quotes on current projects.
"We are looking forward to building on this in 2010, adding even more value for our visitors and exhibitors."
Subcon 2010 has already been planned for the NEC between June 8th and 10th.
