Tungaloy Corporation

Tungaloy Corporation, a leading manufacturer of cutting tools is constructing a 15,500 square meter double-story TAC factory alongside current facilities at Iwaki, Fukushima, Japan.The most advanced automation equipment will be installed for production at this factory. The construction will be completed in October 2010. This new factory will be able to increase the overall capacity of TAC s to more than 4.5 million pieces per month. Positioned as a new concept-based innovation factory equipped with the most advanced production technology available, the company will strongly promote the production advancements to domestic and international visitors as well as the neighbouring community.

The Japanese headquarters of Tungaloy Corporation will be transferred from Kawasaki, Kanagawa to Iwaki, Fukushima  in a move to improve autonomy between departments and co-ordinate the functions of the technical engineering departments in the development and manufacture of new products and materials.

The construction cost of this new facility is estimated at approximately 4billion Yen (US$45million) with another estimated 6 billion Yen (US$68million) to be invested in the installation of facilities and machinery. The new site will see the transfer from Kawasaki to Iwaki of the company president and 120 employees that work in the management, marketing, sales and.

The company currently has three Japanese manufacturing plants in Iwaki, Nagoya and Nirasaki and this new development will be the catalyst and inspiration to drive the whole company towards its long term goals.
