UK precision engineering firm expands to OZ
Delcam, the producer of software for use in a number of technological and healthcare applications, is working with an Australian reseller to expand CNC machining knowledge around the world.
Camplex, which is based in the Commonwealth country, is to demonstrate Delcam's OrthoModel, a program used in conjunction with milling machines to manufacture orthotic insoles for people suffering from foot and posture-related issues.
The new market will be approached through the Australasian Podiatry Conference which is held in Queensland next month, with both design and manufacturing processes being incorporated in a quick process which the firm believes will attract those businesses wanting tighter deadlines.
It is hoped that medical and footwear professionals around the globe will be able to use the CNC technology despite them not having any real experience in computers, noting that easy-to-use menus and features make the process as effortless as possible.
Earlier this month, ice experts Eskimo Ice highlighted their departure from traditional ice-sculpting methods by adopting Delcam's ArtCAM Pro software in its studios, increasing turnover through speedier manufacturing.
