Business confidence boosts WNT sales to record levels

Growing business confidence within the precision engineering subcontract sector helped Sheffield-based cutting tool specialist WNT (UK) achieve record sales in March and brought the curtain down on the company’s best ever 12 month period.

With sales in excess of £1.5 million during March WNT (UK) surpassed its best ever monthly turnover figure by 13 per cent. This success builds on what was a record 12-month period, with WNT (UK) reporting turnover of £13.95 million for the full year from March 1st 2010 to February 28th 2011, the best in the company’s history.

“Throughout the past 12 to 15 months we have seen a marked change in the confidence of our customers. Many are investing in new machine tools as demand for capacity continues to increase. This, of course leads to greater requirements for cutting tools and the applications knowledge to make those tools perform in the most cost-effective manner,” says Tony Pennington, Managing Director, WNT (UK). “We are confident that this growth in both confidence and business will continue through 2011and that we can further develop our ties with the 1000s of engineering sub-contractors across the UK.”

Part of the success behind WNT (UK) is the company’s willingness to continue to invest in introducing new and innovative products. The extent of this investment can be seen in the latest WNT catalogue, which will be available from June.
