Alternative capacity sets (guide channels & pusher sets) are available for each FMB barfeed. Matching the capacity set closely to the bar diameter being machined improves the hydrostatic forces between the material and guide channel and allows the optimum rotation speeds to be achieved during the machining process.
Unattended running can be increased by extending the material storage capacity on the barfeed. Magazine extensions can be either machine or floor mounted depending on the extra capacity required.
Higher capacity FMB barfeeds benefit from roller jaw steadies when processing round material (guide jaws are used when processing profiled bar). The roller jaws are actuated by a pneumatic cylinder and open and close automatically depending on the position of the main pusher. The “open” and “close” positions are set according to the bar and pusher sizes, this ensures the roller jaws are always in contact supporting the material or the pusher.
