Engineering mogul to sell company
A school near Skipton in North Yorkshire has announced the opening of its new precision engineering facility, which aims to pass on cutting-edge skills to a new generation of students.
The Craven Herald & Pioneer revealed that South Craven School in Cross Hills is aiming to give students the best preparation for the modern working world, with the two-storey engineering, skills and training centre breaking ground last July.
Alongside the teaching of abilities on CNC lathes, milling machines and pillar drills, the facility will also offer social care and IT tutelage.
Commenting on the new development, assistant headteacher at South Craven Martin Daly said: "It's important that students find out about the latest innovations, as well as traditional mechanical skills.
"This is all a result of the successful expansion of our school's engineering programmes."
Earlier this week, XYZ Machine Tools announced that it would also be aiming to get more people involved in CNC machining, scheduling a number of additional free workshops for businesses.
