Imagineering at Star
Local schools in the Melbourne area have always been welcome at Star GB, which regularly opens its doors to introduce pupils to the world of technology and manufacturing. On 25th March, it was the turn of Melbourne Primary School.
A party of 16, many of whom walk past Star’s UK headquarters in Chapel Street every day, were invited in to find out how familiar things rely for their existence on machine tools like Star CNC sliders.
Everything they touched on the day was produced with the help of machine tools – an alarm clock, a tap, a toothbrush. They even learnt that their favourite vending machines would not work without metalcutting technology, which left them genuinely impressed at the importance of our industry!
