Unicut Precision have just implemented a new clean room in their production area at their facility in Welwyn Garden City, this has enabled them to secure a contract to supply 5,000 assemblies a year for direct-to-line customer delivery.
The contract, which involves the cnc machining of 11 components, also includes 10 bought-in items and special processes, packaging and test.
Charles Kenny of Unicut said: 'The project involves us taking full responsibility to deliver the level of quality for a fully tested unit direct to the customer's final assembly line.
As part of the contract Unicut will cnc machine components out of stainless steel, aluminium, brass and plastic and purchase electronic items, special seals and electrical connectors.
The processes also require specialist plating and a grinding operation carried out by contractors, and following assembly and final testing in the clean room, assemblies are labelled, packaged and delivered direct to the customer's assembly line.
